The Montessori approach recognizes that all children are born with innate capacities whose development depends to a large extent on exposure to certain elements in their environment. In many cases, there are critical periods that are the optimum time for development of a certain ability or trait (sometimes called sensitive periods). The more that parents and teachers learn what these are and adapt the child's environment accordingly, the more we help the child to reach his potential.
Multi-age groupings offer many benefits to a community of children. Here at the Montessori Children's House, we have a Toddler Community and two Primary Classes. Click the links to learn more about our programs.
